Obituary of Ervin R. Mitchell
Bedford Ervin R. Mitchell, 79, of 5161 State Road 158, Bedford, died at 9:21 pm on Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center.
Born September 29, 1923 in Greene County, he was the son of Bert and Mary (Hamilton) Mitchell. He married Delores Jane Baker on April 10, 1954 and she survives. He was a retired grinder at W.F. Myers in Bedford where he was a member of the union local 1123. He was a member of the Fayetteville Missionary Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II and the Korean Conflict.
Surviving with his wife, Delores Jane are two daughters, Marsha Holmquist of Bedford and Melissa Brewer of Bloomington. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Carl, Romia, Leo, Merle, Charles and Oral Mitchell; three sisters, Dorothia Hardgrove, Zora Lackey and Myrtle Mitchell. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Monday, July 7th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Kenny Walden officiating. Burial will follow in Fayetteville Church of Christ Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 6th and from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Monday at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Pallbearers are Evan Holmquist, T.J. Brewer, Lester (Bud) Mitchell, Kenny Lackey, Eric Holmquist and Jim Brewer. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Bolton, Eddie Fitzgerald, Dallas Bolton, Gary Hall, Bob Skillman and Cletus Waggoner.
