Obituary of Marvin L. Miller

Bedford Marvin L. Miller, 85, of 207 Valley Drive, Bedford, died at 12:30 am on Sunday, April 16, 2006 at his residence. Born December 30, 1920, in Oolitic, he was the son of Marshall P. and Roberta J. (Ellis) Miller. He married Edna Hoban on December 2, 1944 and she survives. He was a banker, financial executive and entrepreneur in Bedford and Salem. He sat on boards of several area banks and was the chairman for the Department of Financial Institutions for the State of Indiana. He received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and his MBA from Harvard University. He was a veteran of WW II serving as 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He was an avid golfer, fly fisherman, fly tier, pilot and photographer. He was an excellent husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Edna of Bedford; two daughters, Susan Miller of Georgia and Jennifer Miller Holden and her husband, Larry Holden of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Holden who is serving with the U.S. Marine Corps. and Christopher L. Holden of Dallas, TX; one great granddaughter, Hayley Holden Etter of Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Josephine Rariden and her husband, Dave. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 19th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 18th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
