Obituary of Walter Medlock

Decatur, TX Walter Medlock, Jr., 79, of 140 County Road 3051, Decatur, TX, formerly of Bedford, IN died at 9:00 am on Saturday, May 8, 2004 at Trinity Rehab. Center in Bridgeport, TX. Born August 13, 1924 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Walter Medlock, Sr. and Lena (Bennett) Medlock. He married Marion Smith on April 17, 1949 and she survives. He was a part-owner of Hales Carriage House Furniture in Bedford for over twenty-five years. He was a member of Eagle Mt. International Church and was a former member of the Free Methodist Church and the First Assembly of God Church in Bedford. He was a member of Kiwanis Club, Christian Business Mens Assoc., Hoosier 100 Club and was an avid golfer. Surviving with his wife, Marion are two daughters, Martie Spaulding of Decatur, TX and Michelle Medlock Adams of Fort Worth, TX; one son, Rob Medlock of Strongsville, OH; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild and one sister, Wyrtus Christopher of Troy, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Geraldine Medlock, Jeanette Masters, Betty Perry and Barbara Medley; two brothers, Ott and Benzel Medlock. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 13th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastors Jan and Martie Spaulding officiating. Entombment will follow in Cresthaven Mausoleum. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 12th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
