Obituary of Franklin Banks

Springville Franklin (Hank) Banks, 69 of Springville, died at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at the VA Hospital in Indianapolis. Born July 2, 1936 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Frank Webster and Lorene (Greer) Banks. He married Carolyn Crane on November 30, 2000 and she survives. He was employed as a paint & body technician at Opal Buick in Indianapolis and attended the Grace Baptist Church in Springville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn of Springville; one daughter, Susan Wardoff of Bedford; one son, Steve Banks; one step-daughter, Angela Hofman of Bloomington; four brothers, Mack Banks, John Banks, Chester Banks all of Lawrence Co., IN and Roger Tiny Banks of Washington, IN; one sister, Wanda Jackson of Bloomington; mother-in-law, Icey Crane of Bedford and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister in infancy; four brothers, Bill and James Banks and two in infancy. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 22nd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Roscoe Godsey officiating. Burial will follow in Springville West Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 21st at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
