Obituary of William Meadows

Bedford William (Yum) Meadows, 72, of 503 Elkins Road, Bedford, died at 6:54 am on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born July 19, 1936 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Claude and Lilly (Smiley) Meadows. He married Sharon Young on June 27, 1959 and she survives. He was a Planerman who retired from Midland Stone Company in Bloomington. Yum was an avid fan of fiddle music and enjoyed attending fiddling contests. He was a fox hunter and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. He never met a stranger. Survivors include his wife, Sharon; three daughters, Valerie Luchauer and her husband, Mike, Karman Arbuckle and her husband, Donnie all of Bedford, Kelly Sherrill and her husband, Rick of Ohio; six grandchildren, Jade and Alex Luchauer, Miranda Arbuckle, Kylee, Madison and Mellanie Sherrill; one step-grandson, D.J. Arbuckle; one sister, Martha Wolfe of Lexington, KY; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, William Scott Harris; three sisters, Maudeline Gillespie, Mary Jane Johnson and Mabel Lawyer; a brother and sister, James and Betty Meadows (in infancy). Funeral Information Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 23rd with Bro. Farrell Sowders officiating. Burial will follow in the Bartlettsville Methodist Cemetery. No calling hours are scheduled.
