Obituary of James McPike

Bedford James E. (Pete) McPike, 85, of Bedford, died at 4:15 am on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at the Hospitality House in Bedford. Born April 5, 1921 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Roy D. and Nellie (Beyers) McPike. He married Floy Ann (Rich) and she preceded him in death. He later married Marjorie (Patterson) and she survives. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps in and around Italy during WW II. He retired from NSWC Crane. He was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church and Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of Bedford; one daughter Pam Eaton of Bedford; one son, Stephen McPike and his wife, Lyn of Bedford; two sisters, Margaret Cummings of Odon and Dorothy Duncan of Vancouver, B.C.; one brother, Richard McPike and his wife, Catherine of Martinsville; five grandchildren, Sean Burk and his wife, Ashley, Ian McPike and his wife, Shanda, Lori Lambton and her husband, Shane, Matthew Todd and his wife, Leah, Nathan Todd and his wife, Nicole; five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Janette Turpin; three brothers, Paul, John and Bernard McPike and first wife, Floy Ann. Funeral Information Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 18th at Clover Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg with Rev. Charlie Scott officiating.
