Obituary of Earline McPike

Oolitic Earline McPike, 88, of 1006 Walnut Street, Oolitic, IN, died at 1:08 pm on Monday, October 13, 2003 at her residence. Born March 7, 1915 in Flora, Illinois, she was the daughter of Charles A. and Eva (Maxwell) Moore. She married George W. McPike on July 25, 1936 and he died June 11, 1996. She was a homemaker and employed briefly by RCA, Reliance Mfg. and J.C. Penney. She was a member of Oolitic Baptist Church where she was a member of the Lydia Circle. She was a Pink Lady Volunteer at Dunn Memorial Hospital and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include one daughter, Sharon R. Reynolds of Oolitic; one son-in-law, John H. Childress of LaCenter, KY; four grandsons, Monty Joe Childress and family of LaCenter, KY, Norris Gene Reynolds and wife of Fayetteville, IN, Bradley Joseph Simmons and Michael McPike Simmons both of Bedford; three granddaughters, Cathy Ann Terrell and family of Barlow, KY, Loretta Kay Denny and family of Fayetteville, IN and Jenny Lynn Reynolds and family of Oolitic, IN; seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters, Lula Henson, Marie Burton, Juanita (Skeeter) Phillips, Pauline Moore (who died at age 12) and Alma Delpha and two brothers, Elbert A. Moore and James Edward Moore (who was killed in WW II) and two daughters, Sondra Ann Childress and Sue Ellen McPike. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 16th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Richard Tallman officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 15th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
