Obituary of Mary Elsie Banks

Bedford Mary Elsie Banks, 84, of Bedford, formerly of Springville, died at 2:45 pm on Friday, December 28, 2007 at Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford.Born April 4, 1923 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Milford and Abbie (Neely) Godsey. She married Harry M. Banks on November 30, 1942 and he preceded her in death on June 21, 2000. She had been employed in the dietary department at Dunn Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Peerless Pentecostal Church.Survivors include two sons, Kenneth R. Banks and his wife, Janice of Springville and Larry W. Banks of Bedford; one brother, Ivan Godsey of Bedford; two sisters, Alma Bottoriff of Bedford and Artie Workman of Bloomfield; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Ruth Ann Phillips; six brothers and three sisters. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Monday, December 31st from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Wendell Phillips, Pastor Alan Phillips and Rev. Max Abel officiating. Burial will follow in the Byers-Rainbolt Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, December 30th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
