Obituary of Gary Wayne Henson

Bedford - Gary Wayne Henson, 57, of Bedford, passed away at 8:40 A.M. on Monday, September 13, 2010 at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after a years battle with cancer. He is already being missed by his family. Born January 2, 1953 in IL, he was the son of Delbert and Wilma (Stevens) Henson. He married Tami (Prow) Henson on July 4, 1984 and she is still living today. Gary retired from the U.S. Army after twenty years of dedicated service. He worked at NWSC Crane as a security officer. He was a Zipp Express driver for several years until he was injured in 2002. Following his injury, he continued to be a loving husband, father and brother to his family. Presently living along with his wife, Tami, are two daughters, Kristen Henson and Kayla Henson both residing in Bedford,: one son, Gary Henson of Germany: three brothers: Ron Henson and wife Gail of Bedford, Gene Henson and wife Debbie of Fayetteville, and Delbert Henson, Jr. of Bedford. He had three sisters: Darlene and David Bailey of Lawrence County, Bonnie Chaplin and husband Chuck of Mitchell, and Debra Jurashen and husband Robert of Bedford, along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 16th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Jim Clouse will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Fayetteville Community Cemetery where military rites will be accorded. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 15th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
