Devon Kaid Hensley
Devon Hensley, 15, of 1634 Church Camp Road, passed away unexpectedly at 2:36 AM Saturday, April 26th at Bedford Regional Medical Center of cardiomyopathy where he was surrounded by his family.Born on July 13, 1992 in Bloomington, IN, he is the son of Chuck and Ericka (Flynn) Hensley. Devon was a freshman at Bedford North Lawrence High School where he was a good student. He played on the freshman baseball team where he was better known as Chop---a true teammate. Devon was also a member of the Boys Club where he enjoyed playing all sports. He was a member of the Silver Star basketball travel team where, in his 6th grade year, the team was 63 and 3, competing nationally. He was also apart of the Bedford Middle School football and basketball teams, along with playing basketball in his elementary school days at Lincoln Elementary. Next to his love of sports was his love of music. He aspired to follow in his fathers business and was in training at Midwest Youth Tournaments. He will be greatly missed and remembered as the best big brother and friend to all who knew him.Surviving are his parents of Bedford; two brothers, Dillon and Drew, both at home; his paternal grandmother, Geneva Hensley of Heltonville; two uncles, Brad Hensley of Heltonville; Dennis Hensley and his wife Janice of Bedford; four aunts, Marcia Winegar and her husband Ronnie of Heltonville; Wanda Henson and her husband Jim of Ft Ritner; Sharon Ray and her husband Harold of Heltonville; Cindy McLemore of Indianapolis; and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Elbert Hensley; maternal grandmother, Carolyn Flynn; and one uncle, Earl Hensley. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 30th at the First Christian Church at 15th and K Streets in Bedford with Pastor Travis Inman officiating. Burial will follow at the Gilgal Cemetery. Friends may call at Day and Carter Mortuary on Tuesday, April 29th from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday, April 30th at the First Christian Church from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
