Obituary of Mary Alice McCart

Bedford Mary Alice McCart, 88, a resident of Hospitality House, formerly of 411 R Street, Bedford went home to glory land last night. Born August 19, 1915 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Burt and Ella (Hubbard) Wright. She married Lowell McCart on March 7, 1937 and he passed away in 2000. She was a homemaker and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the Tunnelton United Methodist Church and president of the Oolitic T.O.P.S. Club for twenty-five years. Survivors include one son, Larry McCart and his wife, Judith of Bedford; two granddaughters, Tracy Lee and her husband, David and Terri Kimbley and her husband, Steve, all of Bedford; two grandsons, Scott McCart and his wife, Shalon of Greenwood and David McCart and his wife, Meleah of Bedford; four great grandchildren, Patrick and Andrea Lee of Bedford and Rebekah and Reece McCart of Greenwood; one sister, Ina Wright of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, William, Robert, Marvin and Max (in infancy); three sisters, Bonnie Kruchten, Alta Mae Hickman and Gretel (in infancy). Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, November 14th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Lindy Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Tunnelton Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 13th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
