Obituary of Edna L. Martin

Bedford Edna L. Martin, 80, of Bedford, died at 9:05 pm on Monday, January 12, 2009 at her residence. Born October 5, 1928, she was the daughter of Guy and Edith (Croucher) Turpen. She married John D. Martin on August 3, 1947 and he preceded her in death on September 6, 2005. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bartlettsville Christian Church. Survivors include three sons, Bob Martin and his wife, Paula of Heltonville, Jim Martin and his wife, Lynette of Leesville and Jack Martin of Bedford; three grandchildren, Greg Martin and his wife Jeanette of Heltonville, Holly Wagner and her husband Kenneth, Jaime Young and her husband Brian all of Bedford; seven great grandchildren, Courtney, Brooke and Amy Martin of Heltonville, Jolee and Landon Young of Bedford, Chris Wagner of Indianapolis and Matt Wagner and his wife, Kayla of Bedford; one great great grandson, Gavin Wagner; two sisters, Paulyena Martin of Craigsville, VA and Rose Turpin of Heltonville. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, David; one sister, Mary; one son, Jerry (POW/MIA); one grandson, Joey Martin. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 16th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Tim Day and Pastor Richard Chase officiating. Burial will follow in the Mundell Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 15th and from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Friday, January 16th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
