Obituary of Marco Marchetti
Bedford Marco Marchetti, 92, of Bedford, died Saturday, September 19, 2008.
Born September 22, 1915 in Proctor, VT, he was the son of Vasco and Amelia (Tenerani) Marchetti. Marco was a graduate of the Bedford High School with the class of 1933. He served in WW II with the 93rd Naval Construction Battalion in the Solomon Islands, Green Island and the Phillipines. He retired from NSWC-Crane in 1976 where he was a supervisory production manager in the public works department. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, American Legion Gillen Post #33 and the Elks Lodge. He married Evalou June Henderson on December 15, 1945 and she preceded him in death on April 30, 2004.
Survivors include one son, Pat Marchetti and his wife, Toni of Pittsboro; one daughter, Jana Marchetti of Indianapolis; a granddaughter, Kristen Marchetti of Bloomington; a nephew and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters, Libia Marchetti-Liva and Carmen Marchetti-Pichler; one brother, Milo Marchetti; one grandson, Kurt Marchetti. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 26th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Mark McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 25th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
