Much love to the dearest family as you all mourn and remember Bob. I am sorry you have to go through this. As a high school friend of Jill's, I have wonderful memories of Bob. He was a very engaged father, and it made a great impression on me. Thinking of you all and sending prayers for peace and comfort. What lovely, wonderful photos of your family. I loved seeing these. I have known Bob for as long as I can remember. Met at First United Methodist Church so I saw him weekly for my entire childhood. I would stay all night with Jill at their Broadview Addition house. Bob was always kind, welcoming and funny. We would watch the Gong Show (the whole family) and eat nice meals prepared by Liz including weird dishes like "prozna". Maybe that recipe came from family in Louisville? In fact, we still own the stainless steel baking pan that the Collin's bought for our wedding gift (to make the exotic okra recipes in, no doubt!) He was a wonderful male role model for many in our church! I went off to Purdue and lost contact with them for the most part. I did visit their newer home at Rocky Creek and again, was welcomed with open arms by Liz and Bob. An amazing couple who raised three wonderful children. Last year, I ran into Bob at Bloomington Kroger and we stopped and spoke a few minutes about the high grocery prices and caught up on the family. He was flabbergasted at the price ($5) of a few cut up pieces of watermelon in a small container. We laughed, what else can you do? The world was indeed blessed to have such a warm soul and all who knew him will mourn his passing immensely. RIP

I met Bob and Liz during my stay last summer in IU. Liz and Bob made me feel very welcomed and cared for. Bob had a wonderful sense of humor and he was also kind and patient and enjoyed talking about famous Spanish golfers. Liz's and Bob's faith in Christ inspired me to read the Bible. I was really saddened to hear about his loss. My heart goes out to the family and to everyone that loved him.

Dear Liz, I so loved you and Bob as neighbors. I remember your basset hound and really enjoyed coming across the alley to visit with you and Bob. Bob was my Sunday school teacher (I think). I remember him in that role with a smile. Bob always made me smile. I’m so sorry you and we have lost such a great person.

I worked with Bob at data processing for many years and had the privilege of playing golf with him a few times. The only thing I had against Bob was that he was a Cardinal fan and I was a Cub fan. We made each other smile at the digs we gave each other over the years. Rest in peace Bob. Bret Hobbs Linton Indiana
