Myrtle Turner Obituary

Mitchell – Myrtle Turner, 88, of Mitchell, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at her residence.


Born January 20, 1936, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Arlie C. and Elsie Edwards Dowling. She had been an assembly line worker at RCA and a cook at Westview Nursing and Rehab. Center. She was a member of the Work of God Church in Mitchell.


Survivors include four children, Sharon Eisele and Mike Strunk (Theresa Pemberton), of Mitchell, Jamie Strunk, and Johnny Turner, of Bedford; six grandchildren including Dalton Strunk (who was raised in her home); several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a son, Roy Dowling, a son-in-law, Scott Eisele, a great-grandchild, Anthony Wade.


Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 13th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Dwight Dunbar officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 12th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
