Obituary of Morris Wayne Manion

Bedford Morris Wayne Manion, 82, of Bedford, died at 3:07 am on Friday, September 06, 2013 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. Born August 8, 1931 in Spienkopf (East Oolitic), he was the son of Roy and Gladys (Vaughn) Manion. He married Anicette H. LeMaire on May 23, 1953 and she survives. He was a graduate of Oolitic High School with the class of 1948. He retired as a master sergeant after twenty-four years of service in the U.S. Air Force in 1971 serving during the Korean and Viet Nam Wars. He then retired as an Electricians Tech. from NWSC Crane in 1993. He was a master mason with the Patriot Lodge #750 F & AM of Oolitic and a member of the Hoosier Hills Ham Club. He attended the Bedford Free Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Anicette of Bedford; two daughters, Barbara Ann Manion of Bedford and Rebecca Vincent and husband, Fonda, of Owensburg; a son, Bruce Manion and companion, Judith Corwin of Bedford; two grandsons, Travis Vincent and wife, Michelle, of Owensburg and William Hill and wife, Lisa, of Bedford; five granddaughters, Anicette Richardson and husband, Anthony, of Florida, Holly Sparkman and husband, Wade, Christi Wrisner and husband, Shane all of Tennessee, Terri Rodgers and husband, Chris of Rhode Island, Brandi Cassidy and husband, Michael of Mitchell; fifteen great grandchildren; a sister, Irma (Louise) Smith of Guthrie; two brothers, Marvin Manion and wife, Jeanie of East Oolitic and Kenneth Manion and wife, Bobbi, of Oolitic. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold (Bearcat) Manion. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 11th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor John Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery with military rites accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion and D.A.V. Chapter 2. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 10th at the Day & Carter Mortuary with a masonic service conducted at 7:00 pm.
