Karl Teter Obituary

Bedford – Karl Teter, 85, of Bedford, passed away at 11:44 pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at I.U. Health Hospice House in Bloomington.


Born July 7, 1939, in Tipton, IN, he was the son of Guy O. and Ruth V. (Rayl) Teter. He married Velma Joyce Johnson and she survives. He had been a manager for the 3-D Department Store and owner of The Pet Corner in Bedford.


He was a member of the Free Methodist Church and had volunteered at Habitat for Humanity. He was an avid Colts fan and loved his dog, Bandit.


Survivors include his wife, Joyce; two sons, Bruce Teter (Christy), and Kelly Teter; a daughter, Gwen Giliam (Jeff); step-children, Paul Dorsett (Nancy), Nancy Stancombe (Stephen), Cheryl Hammond (Greg), and Adrian Dorsett; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul Teter.


Cremation was chosen with a memorial service to be at a later date. Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
