My husband was very fond of Dr.Mount and his wife he went to the same church the attended his name is Charles Edward Simmons (Chuck Simmonscof Williams Indiana) he recently died of stage 4 rapidly growing small cell lung cancer I WILL keep the mount family in my prayers Mrs Dawn Simmons God Bless

Just heard the sad news today. My husband and I got to meet Jim and Rowena recently from the neighborhood. We had a get together recently in the late summer at Jim and Rowena’s house with the other neighbors. Dr. Jim has such a friendly and warm demeanor. So thankful I got to meet him. Thoughts and prayers for the family and friends.

Dr. Mount was my OB/GYN and delivered our firstborn, in an emergency delivery . He saved my life and my son. He was a wonderful doctor, so kind and compassionate. I am forever grateful. My sincere condolences to his wife and family.

Jim and Rowena welcomed me to Bedford and to Volkswalking when I moved to town. Jim was president of the Hiking Club for many years and when he turned over all the volkswalking supplies to me it wasn't a box- it was a truckload of things he had collected. It was a responsibility he and Rowena had always taken seriously and done well, and I never wanted to disappoint them. Jim did everything with enthusiasm and a smile. He was kind and had a story for every occasion and could make us laugh. He was loved by everyone who knew him and I will miss him very much.

I worked with Dr Mount on OB for many years. Such a good doctor with the most pleasant and kind hearted demeanor! I also heard him sing the most heavenly rendition of “Holy Night” in church. Love you Dr. Mount and praying for Rowena and your family.

This is hard saying good bye to a wonderful man. I was fortunate in serving on the board of directors for a few years at The Medical Center. I remember his generosity to a resident of Bliss House of a mobility scooter. I was fortunate to have known him for a while.

One of my favorite memories of Dr. Mount was when he took Carter and me to the Indy 500. We were probably 13 or 14 at that time. He had us sitting across the finish line, and the day was epic. He knew all about the cars, drivers, and more. It was one of my first significant experiences at such a large event, and I will never forget it.

Bill and I have known all the Mounts since we moved to Bedford in 1978 and started attending the First United Methodist Church of which they were members. Jim always had a smile on his face and a hello for everyone as they came to church. He was kind and friendly and full of faith in the Lord. You could tell how much his faith meant when he sang, especiallly the solos we so enjoyed during Thanksgiving and Christmas worship services. We will miss him greatly.
