Grandma, you were the essence of an exemplary joyful, loving and most sweet Woman. A beautiful mysophobe, OCD when it came to keeping a clean space. You were particular about order and structure and I’m lucky enough to have your DNA, as I am the same. You had the best humor and loved a good joke or prank. You are greatly loved and will be missed for the rest of our days. I can hear your sweet voice calling my name and will think of this when I want to be warmed by the thought of you. Love your grandson!

Rose was such a sweet lady; that is how everyone described her. I was blessed to be her daughter-in-law and to know her for over 50 years. She & Bill welcomed me into the family and told me to call if I ever needed anything after my parents had passed. A memory I have is that, whenever we would visit them, we would ask each other, “I wonder if we will have chili or spaghetti?” She was always a great cook and loved having company until the end of her life. The picture on this page is from her 93rd birthday party that she enjoyed so much.
Thank you so much, Linda & Ron, for giving Rose such an enjoyable and comfortable last year in your home. Thank you, Jerry, for spending time with her and letting us stay at your house when we would come to visit. What a blessing it was to be with Rose when she closed her eyes on earth and opened them in heaven. I agree with Stephen, who said there was a huge celebration in heaven! We are thankful to God for a peaceful passing and the wonderful hospice nurses who helped her in her last weeks.
I love you, Rose, and will miss visiting you.

Mom was one of the friendliest people I know. She never met a stranger. She could and would strike up a conversation with anyone.
She loved eating at the hospital cafeteria in Pinehurst, NC. All the workers knew her and would greet her by name. They loved her smile and friendliness.
Growing up on Air Forces bases, Mom always had ladies over for coffee or she was over at other ladies' houses chatting and drinking coffee. That was one of mom's favorite things to do, to sit and drink coffee with a friend.
Thanks to Linda and Ron, Mom's last year was one of the best years of her life. I had never heard her laugh before like the way she did, especially when Linda and Ron's dog, Oliver, would come around. Linda and Ron gave her so many nice experiences; eating at her favorite ice cream spot, grilling hot dogs at the park, nightly drives during Christmas, looking at Christmas lights.
We have many things to remember mom by, but the most enduring one is her beautiful smile.

It sure was a joy to hang out with Rose for the last year. Always enjoyed the stories she told about when she was young growing up on a farm. She was a bit of a prankster, and I was normally the person she pranked! One time while I was sitting in the car with her a policeman pulled up beside us and then got out and left. She turned to me, and in a serious tone said, “You are lucky, I guess he didn’t see you”.
I will never forget the long drives she always enjoyed, and sitting on the porch with her watching the world go by. As many of you know she would never turn down a hotdog, and it was fun roasting hot dogs over a fire with her.
I would like to say a special thank you to my wife Linda, as I know firsthand how much time and effort, she put into making sure Rose was comfortable, happy and well taken care of.
Rose, you were a sweet lady, I knew you for 50 years and I love you and miss you!!!!

Mike and I met Rose and Bill over 15 years ago at our family’s restaurant. They became two of our favorite customers. Rose and I were friends instantly, and through the years we formed an unbreakable bond. I can honestly say, so far in my lifetime I consider two women to be my best friends, with Rose being one of them. I miss her already, but am so grateful God put her in my life.
I know that her family was the center of her life, and I might add, second to that was, shopping, eating out, and decorating!! She was a best friend to me, never judging but always encouraging me through the many chapters in our lives.
My condolences to the family; Billy and Kathy, Debbie, Roy, Linda and Ron, and all of the grandchildren and great grandchildren. We send a special thanks to Linda and Ron for the decision they and all the family made to care for Rose when she needed it most. They have been so gracious to Mike and I, and we truly appreciate them both.

"A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take." - Cardinal Merillod
I was blessed to have my mom live with us the last year of her life. I will cherish those memories to the last day of mine.
Mom would tell me things from her childhood I did not know. She played drums in the school band. On Sundays she would hurry home from church, change clothes so she could get on her horse to ride all over Higginsville with her best friend.
Mom loved seeing the horse and buggies all over town and on the highway here. Lots of Amish here and she would get so excited when she would spot them. She loved horses.
I will miss mom sitting on my kitchen barstool eating and watching me cook and clean. Sitting in the front seat of my van travelling all over southern Indiana going site seeing, shopping, out to eat, and getting her daily ice cream. She would relax in her recliner with her electric blanket set on three bars, positioned just so over her little body.
She spent the winter at her computer surfing the web. She loved to watch the security cameras monitor. She kept us informed on what my neighbors were up to, when we got letters put in the box, or a package was delivered. She spent the summer in her rocker on the front porch. She would get the mail and packages handed to her and talk to any and everyone.
Mom's favorite holiday was Christmas. She decorated her own homes inside and out to the max. She decorated her room here the same way. First thing every day was plugging in her tree and lighting up all her figurines. When someone came to our house, she would show them her room. She would beam with pride. We went driving around Bedford or surrounding towns almost every night after dark to look at the decorations. If a house was bare, she would say, they are lazy.
Mom loved to have a good time. She would unexpectedly belt out one-liners. She loved to sneak up on Ron to scare him or hide behind the front door and hold the handle when he would try to come in the house. She would laugh so hard if she "Got" him.
The word everyone who came into contact in the last year with mom would use was "SWEET." They would say she is so sweet, or she is the sweetest person.
Mom's last words were on Wednesday morning and they were "Hi Oliver." Oliver is our dog, and he entertained mom. Oliver would go to mom's room every morning to see her, and she would say "HI Oliver". She laughed at all his misbehaving and antics.
Oliver is still looking all over the house for her.
I would like to thank all the family and friends who came to visit mom in Indiana this last year. She always looked forward to it and it meant so much to her.
I would like to thank Bill and Kathy for all the help moving her here, during your visits, moral support when she passed and helping with packing her things away.
Thank you, Liz, Sydney and Desirae from Southern Care Hospice. You all went above and beyond in taking care of her. you all are special people who were so caring and kind to mom.
A very special thank you to Ron and Jerry for all the love and help you gave mom every single day for a year. I could not have done it without you by my side.
Mom, I love you and miss you. You will wear your wings well in heaven. Save us all a spot.

Thank you, Rob. I am glad I got to spend time with her. Mom missed you so much. You all spent your whole life around her. I know you have a lifetime of great memories of her and your mom. She talked about you and Ryan and your mom and dad often. I am glad you all came to see her in June. She had a great time with all of you.

I am so thankful I got to spend the past year with Rose. She is one of the funniest people I have ever met! We got ice cream almost every day, and there was hardy nothing sweet she didn't like or an adventure she wasn't up for! Will greatly miss getting to do things with her.
Here is a picture from last Halloween with Rose handing out candy.
Love,
Jerry

My grandma was the strongest woman I know. She raised 4 kids, and loved her grandkids and great kids like crazy.
She had a tough life at times. Gaslighted…etc. But she stood strong through it all and always showed her love to grandkids and great-grankids.
She had a special relationship with one of her great-grandkids. Nico, (of course others too) and it really impacted him. Not many are blessed to spend time with your great-grandparent. I’m so happy he had 23 years with her.
I lost my maternal gma at 8 or 9. I had to call 911. It’s a day I’ll never forget. We had gma Rose for a long time. She was so sweet, loved food, loved shopping, but most importantly loved her family like crazy.
She is now in heaven with her sweet daughter, angry husband (just kidding) and all her other loving family. We love you too grandpa.
Thank you to L and R for everything you’ve done over the past year. Thank you P and R for everything you’ve had to endure over the years.
Grandma- you are beautiful and I pray you are hugging Patti in paradise.
