Bedford – Velma Ruth Higginbotham, 78, of Bedford, passed away at 2:21 pm on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at her residence.

Born November 7, 1945, in Crofton, KY, she was the daughter of James and Arminta (Blackburn) Hendricks. She had been a self-employed janitorial worker. She was raised in the Pentecostal church and was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, cooking for them and spoiling the grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, James Foster and wife, Shantel, and Danny Foster and wife, Jessica; grandchildren, Sean, Tabitha, Mary, David, Shamar, and James Foster, Ricky Thomas, and Monique Carpinteria; a brother, Robert Hendricks; a sister, Mary Alderson; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Shirley Flynn.
