Williams - Joyce Burns, 72, of Williams, IN, passed away at 5:05 am on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Majestic Care in Bedford.

Born March 1, 1952, in Bedford, she was the daughter of William and Mabel (Kern) Henderson. She married Bill Burns and he survives. Joyce started her career as an EMT at Dunn Hospital, then went to school to become a paramedic. Eventually, she returned to school to become a registered nurse. Joyce worked at both Dunn Hospital and Bloomington Hospital in the Emergency Department.

Survivors include her husband, Bill, of Williams; a daughter, Brigette Burns; a son, Brad Burns (Kristie); grandchildren, Cailey and Nicholas Doering; a brother, Tom; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Joel.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 30th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with John Flynn officiating. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
