Obituary of Robert Jan Lewis

Paoli - Robert Jan Lewis, 77, of Paoli, passed away at 10:01 am on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford. Born May 26, 1947, in Bedford, he was the son of Robert Dean and Marva Jean (Goodin) Lewis. He married Betty Lou and she survives. He was the director of IT operations for Throop Elementary School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1967-1971. Surviving with his wife, Betty, of French Lick is a daughter, Stacie Frick, of Evansville; step-children, Lisa Newlin, of Madison, John Newlin and wife, Carla, of French Lick and Chris Terry, of Bedford; a sister, Marlyn Parker and husband, Jim, of Ellettsville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry Dean Lewis. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 4th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor David Ferry officiating. Burial will follow in the Paoli Community Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the hour of service on Sunday at the mortuary where military rites will be accorded.
