Springville - Judy A. Brain, 83, of Springville, passed away at 3:00 am on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Mitchell Manor.

Born February 15, 1941, in Monroe Co., she was the daughter of Bee and Lela (Butcher) Prince. She married Hobert C. Phillips and he preceded her in death. She later married Halden (Joe) Brain on February 17, 1996, and he also preceded her in death on November 26, 2016. She retired as a custodian for Indiana University and attended the Assembly of God Church in Harrodsburg.

Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Phillips, of Georgia; four sons, Rick Phillips and wife, Barb, of Norman, Dennis Phillips and wife, Paula, of Springville, Bruce Phillips and companion, Marsha Mundy, of Springville and Shane Phillips and wife, Andrea, of Springville; 4 Step-children, Jeffrey Brain, of Shawswick, Theresa Magnus and husband, Mike, of Oolitic, Angie Brain and companion, Bruce Shank, of Spencer and Jerry Brain and wife, Sarah, of Indianapolis; a son-in-law, Joe Guarneri; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; a brother, Virgil Prince. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Donna, a step-son, Aaron Brain, five brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 28th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Pat Arthur officiating. Burial will follow in Springville Cemetery West. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Tuesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
