Obituary of Roberta I. Maddox

Bedford Roberta I. Maddox, 84, of 2711 Washington Ave., Bedford, died at 12:29 am on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born January 20, 1924 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Dras and Ollie (Deckard) Covey. She married Harry Maddox on January 20, 1940 and he preceded her in death on June 9, 1999. She was a homemaker and a charter member of the Valley Mission Church of the Nazarene. Roberta loved her family her gardening, and her flowers. Survivors include one son, Ronnie Wayne Maddox and his fiance Suzy Reynolds of Bedford; one granddaughter, Misty Johnson and her husband, Dustin of Bedford; one grandson, Justin Hawkins and his wife, Shauna of Bedford; four great grandchildren, Trace Hawkins, Jeslyn Johnson, Lane Hawkins and Dalton Wayne Johnson; a son-in-law, Kent Hawkins; one sister, Doris Grissom of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Philip Maddox and one daughter, Sandy Hawkins. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 19th at the Valley Mission Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Duane Brown and Rev. John Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Hanson Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, July 18th at the Day & Carter Morutary and from 2:00 pm until the hour of service on Saturday, July 19th at the Valley Mission Church of the Nazarene.
