Obituary of Jimmie Goins

September 13, 1954 – February 9, 2024 Bedford – Jimmie Dairl Goins, 69, of Bedford passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024. Born September 13, 1954, in Clay County Kentucky, he was the son of Charles and Francis (Reynolds) Goins. He was a graduate of Needmore High School. He worked at True’s gas station for years as well as maintenance for nursing homes and at Patoka Lake. He loved camping at Wildridge campgrounds and was an avid fan of IU basketball. Survivors include his children, Anon Goins and wife Crystal of Mitchell, Audrey Goins of Bedford, Susan Hammond and husband Gary of Bedford, and Scott Hatfield of Bedford; three sisters Darlene Lewis and husband James of Owensburg, Sheila Goins McDowell of Owensburg, and Sondra Harbstreit and husband Brent of Cypress, Texas; four grandchildren Dakota, Micah, Ellison and Harrison; two aunts, Hazel Silvers of Oolitic and Brenda Sue Hubbard of Kentucky; Also, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donnie Wayne Goins, and significant other of 20 plus years, Janice Hedrick. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Hillcrest Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to the time of service Saturday.
