Obituary of Joy K. Lyons

Bedford, Joy K. Lyons, 66, of Springville, died at 5:15 am on Wednesday, May 10th, at the Bloomington Hospital. Born on October 17, 1939, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Dale and Irene (Sproles) Mynatt and the eldest of nine children. She was formerly married to Fred Lyons. She worked as a factory worker for RCA and GE in Bloomington and Visteon in Bedford. She is survived by Leonard Prince a life-long friend of the family, one son: Rick Lyons of Springville, five daughters: Jody Root and Cindy Cummings both of Bloomfield, Fritzi Jones of Springville, Jill Lutes of Bedford, Kathi Robinson of Summit Lake, IN, twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren, four brothers: Chris Shannon of Plainfield, Ernie Mynatt and Sam Mynatt both of Bedford, Ralph Mynatt of Owensburg, four sisters: Beth Lake, Mary Harrington, Faye Yates and Wilma Hughes all of Bedford. She will be remembered by many cousins and family members as well as many life-long friends of Visteon. She is preceded in death by her parents, one grandchild and two nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 12th, at the Bethel Christian Community Church with Forrest Lake officiating. Burial will follow in Dishman Cemetery with a dinner immediately following the internment. Friends may call from 12:00 pm until the time of service at the Bethel Christian Community Church.
