Richard and I worked together in a Mine Fill at Crane. He was working in the basket area and myself and Hoot Gibson were unloading explosives from box cars. My oldest daughter Tonya McDonald was friends with his daughter that is a missionary. Richard and I were also members of the Problem Solvers at Magic Morning Bakery. Enjoy eternity in the arms of Jesus Richard. Gary McDonald

I met Richard when he came into Magic Morning with “the Problem Solvers” on Wednesday mornings. He was always so kind to me. I met Richard & Luella at the age of 17. I was going through a difficult time with my then boyfriend. He always told me that he was praying for “you and that boy”. And today we’re married! Sweet memories of this gentleman. Prayers & love to all the family!

I was one of Richard’s newspaper carriers in the late 50s and early 60s but he was more than a boss to us carriers. Richard would take us to the Star and News Christmas parties in Indy,the Indpls 500 qualifications and to dirt track races in the area. He was fair man to work for and fun man to be around and I’m sure he’ll be missed by family and friends.
