Obituary of Vonda F. Baker
Springville-Vonda F. Baker, 82, of Springville died Friday evening, May 13, 2011 at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis due to injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Born June 11, 1928 in Avoca, IN she was the daughter of Pallas and Nancie (Jackson) Childers. She married Opal M. Baker on August 25, 1946 and he preceded her in death. She had worked for Sarkes Tarzian and later retired from NSWC CRANE. Vonda was a member of the Cornerstone Worship Center, where she served as the Missions Director and a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Survivors include one son: Mike Baker and his wife Anna of Springville; four grandchildren: Dennis Baker, Jeremy Baker, Jessica Hudson, and Jennifer Phillips; six great grandchildren: Eric Hudson, Annaliese Hudson, Eli Phillips, Josiah Phillips, Adalee Phillips, and Devin Baker; one sister: Marcella Pancoast and her husband Charles of Grand Blank, Michigan; one daughter in law: Delores Baker of Springville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son: Kenneth Dale Baker; three brothers: Winfred, Richard, and Robert Childers; one sister: Loretta. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 17th at the Cornerstone Worship Center with Rev. Rodney Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, May 16th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Tuesday, May 17th at the Cornerstone Worship Center.
