Obituary of Roy Earl Pruett

Bedford – Roy Earl Pruett, 87, of Bedford, passed away at 7:45 pm on Monday, October 23, 2023, at his residence. Born August 29, 1936, in Bedford, he was the son of Hubert and Geneva (Robins) Pruett. He married Evelyn Hicks on February 7, 1959, and she survives. He was a fork-lift operator for Central Foundry and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of U.A.W. Local #440 and attended the Baptist Church. He loved fishing and watching NASCAR racing. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, of Bedford; three children, Roy D. Pruett, Lucinda Ball (Vernon), and Steven Pruett, all of Bedford; a very dear beloved grandson, Gavin Pruett; four grandchildren, Lucas, Rachell, Lydia, and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Haley, Dakota, Spencer; two brothers, Harley Pruett (Marie) and Eddie Pruett, all of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Sarah; a daughter-in-law, Henrietta; two brothers, Jim and Larry Pruett and a sister, Joyce Pemberton. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 27th at Pinhook Cemetery with Danny Goens officiating. Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
