Obituary of Judith K. Crane

Bedford – Judith K. Crane, 79, of Bedford, passed away at 1:23 pm, on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Majestic Care in Bedford. Born December 13, 1943, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Cecil and Olive (Reuter) Wagner. She married Edwin “Boots” Crane and he preceded her in death. She was a nurses’ aide at Dunn Hospital, Westview Nursing and the Hospitality House. She was a member of the Crossroads Community Church, babysat many children and was a nanny to all. Survivors include children, Lawrence “Larry” Joyner and wife, Beth, of Bedford, Billie Ann Whitis and companion, Tony Jaynes, of Freetown, Gregory Joyner and wife, Lora, of Bedford, Heidi Wagner and husband Bill, of Bedford; a step-son, Larry Crane and wife, Kathy, of Bedford; a step-daughter, Linda Klinedinst and husband; eleven grandchildren, Misty Joyner, Rebecca Mader, Cassie Hildum, Nicholas Joyner, Justin Hunter, Jessica Hunter, Kyle Hamilton, LaDawn Joyner, Lynnae Birchfield, Zachary Martin, Danielle Clines; twenty-one great grandchildren and one expected in April; one great-great-grandchild; four step grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Super, Bonnie West and Liz Anders; a step-brother and two step-sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her step-mother, Gladys Wagner; her companion, David Cox and a step-daughter, Diane Guthrie; a sister, Marilyn Gibson. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 1st in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Kenny Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the White River Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the hour of service on Sunday at the Day & Carter Mortuary. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Hope Resource Center.
