Obituary of Wendell Floyd Phillips

Oolitic – Wendell Floyd Phillips, 57, of Oolitic, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023, at his residence. Born July 5, 1966, in Bedford, he was the son of Cecil and Christine (Melton) Phillips. He attended the Oolitic Baptist Church and the Oolitic United Methodist Church. Wendell was a life-long resident of Oolitic and was well known among many of the area residents. He was a member of the Bedford Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #689. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Louisville Cardinals fan and followed racing. Survivors include his mother, Christine Phillips, of Oolitic; aunts, Carolyn Allen, of Bedford and Dorothy Phillips, of Oolitic; several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil; grandparents, Joe and Clara Melton, Elisha and Angie Phillips; several aunts and uncles. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 pm on Thursday, July 27th in Springville Cemetery West with Rev. Richard Tallman and Greg Eads officiating.
