Obituary of Raymond L. Woodsmall, Jr.

Bedford – Raymond L. Woodsmall, Jr., 75, of Bedford, passed away at 5:05 pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at his residence. Born March 16, 1948, in Washington, IN, he was the son of Raymond L. Woodsmall, Sr. and Lois (Manning) Flynn Woodsmall. He married Becki Elkins on December 2, 1972, and she survives. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and retired from the U.S. Air Force and Indiana Army National Guard. He attended the River Church in Shoals. Survivors include his wife, Becki, of Bedford; five children, Andrea Fields and husband, Mike, of Bedford, Christy Farhar and husband, Ed, of Shoals, Johnna Woodsmall and Justin Pack, of Columbus, OH, Daniel Woodsmall and wife, Crystal, of Bedford, and Jordan Woodsmall, of Brooklyn, NY; fourteen grandchildren, Caleb and Chloe Fields, Cole Kimmel, Chad Farhar, Aimee Harder and husband, John, Jadaya Farhar, Daniel Farhar, Ryken Farhar, Millie Farhar, Trey Pack, Niko Pack, Jordyn Woodsmall, Kyla Addison and Chase Lady, Trevor Brooks, Alexus and Matthew Aubrey; four great-grandchildren, Savannah Harder, Paul Harder, Everleigh Lady, and Zoey Brooks; four siblings, Nancy Ausman, of Washington, IN, Tom Flynn, of FL, Rob Flynn, of Sullivan, IN, and Anita Reed, of FL; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandmother, Iva Woodsmall, who raised him. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 27th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Jimmy Johnson and Stephen Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
