Obituary of Rhonda Goins

Rhonda Adams Goins (better known as “Audrey’s Mom”) died Tuesday, April 25th, 2023, at IU Hospital, Bedford, Indiana after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born February 15, 1958, in Norton, Virginia, Rhonda was the daughter of Spencer and Mary (Hughes) Adams who both preceded her in death. She was employed by AT&T as an operator for 20 years and had worked at Superior Kiln and Mill for 21 years. Rhonda loved a good laugh, was known for pranks, and loved scaring people. She enjoyed traveling, eating good food, reading, and binge-watching reality TV. She was born to be a grandma. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and gave of her energy and time sacrificially to lighten the load for their parents. To Rhonda, family wasn’t defined by genetics. Her patience, at times, seemed infinite, and she has earned her rest. She is survived by her daughter, Audrey Goins, son, Anon (Crystal) Goins, grandchildren: Dakota, Micah, Ellison, and Harrison; step-daughter, Amanda Walters, grandchildren: Sanora and Trace; her siblings, Sandra Daugherty, and Gary “Chuck” (Debbie) Adams, all of Bedford; a sister-in-law, Wendy Adams, of Bedford; her nieces: Elizabeth (Scott) Gaither, Cinnamon (Mark) Adams Stover, and Atalie (Nikiha) Anderson, and nephews: Spencer (Denise) Adams and David Sexton. She was loved by 11 great nieces & nephews, and 4 great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her significant other of 18 years, Gary Evans; a brother, Spencer Bud Adams; a brother-in-law, Dan Daugherty; a sister-in-law, Carla Adams. A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 pm on Sunday, April 30th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Lee Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Sunday at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
