Obituary of Charles T. Wilson, Sr.

Silverville – Charles T. Wilson, Sr., 74, of Silverville, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at his residence. Born March 28, 1948, in New York, he was the son of Fred and Helen (Brostowski) Wilson. He married Rowena Craig on September 16, 2013, and she survives. Charlie is survived by his wife, Rowena; three children, Lori and wife, Rhonda, of South Carolina, Charlie, of Williams, and Robert, of Bedford; his beloved dog, Dillon; a grandson, Keaton Wilson, who was raised in the home; four grandchildren, Jena and husband, Scott, of Bedford, Lacey and husband, Cody, Tarrah and Alyssa, all of Paoli. He is also survived by one brother, Fred, Jr., of Vermont; his daughter, Kristie, and family of Virginia and his son, Fred, III and his family of Georgia; a cousin, Tammy Reed and her family of Seymour, a cousin, Bernie, of Kentucky and a cousin’s wife, Marcella Sizemore. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Helen Wilson; two brothers, John and Robert Wilson; both paternal and maternal grandparents; cousin, Robert Sizemore and his mother and Harold Dean Wilson. Charlie was a VietNam veteran serving from 1968 thru 1970 as a wheel and track mechanic and was attached to many units for his expertise along the way. He received many commendations during his tour. He loved his country and all it stood for. He also loved Harley Davidson. He was a carpenter by trade, especially proud of the horse stables he built at French Lick, and was a small time farmer. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 18th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Dennis Williams officiating and where military rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Burial will follow in the Silverville Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 17th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
