Obituary of Ada Delores Stewart

Springville – Ada Delores Stewart, 89, of Springville, passed away at 10:30 pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Stonebridge Health Campus. Born October 18, 1933, she was the daughter of Curtis and Mildred (Payton) Stevens. She married Grant S. Stewart on July 22, 1950, and he preceded her in death on December 6, 1993. She had been an assembler at RCA and attended Valley Mission Church of the Nazarene and Life Church in Bloomington. Ada enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking, and sewing. Survivors include three children, Carolyn Helderman, of Loogootee, Grant M. Stewart and wife, Julia A. “Julie”, of Avon, and Ricky J. Stewart and wife, Gaye Ann, of Bedford; eleven grandchildren, Troy M. Helderman (Shelly), Shelly M. Chestnut (Steve), Rita McGillum, Cristal R. Lewis (Rodney), Jennifer A. Shufran (Matthew), Sarah J. Robinson (William), Rachelle M. Shaver (Nathan), Priscilla C. Moore (James), Deborah M. Perry (Grant), Ricky Joseph “Joey” Stewart, Jr. (Dianna), and Amy M. Deering (Rodger); twenty-nine great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Robbie Stevens, Harold Guy Stevens, and Arthur Stevens. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Linda Harris; a brother, Charlie Stevens; three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 9th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Tim Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Hanson Cemetery.
