Obituary of Willie Faye Baker

Bedford Willie Faye Baker, 97, of 701 Fayetteville-Owensburg Rd., Bedford, died at 7:20 am on Monday, May 28, 2007 at the White River Lodge in Bedford. Born March 25, 1910 in Martin Co., he was the son of Noah and Martha Elizbeth (Roberts) Baker. He married Rose Smith on October 18, 1948 and she preceded him in death on December 21, 1991. He was a heavy equipment operator/engineer with the Operators Union 481 in Henderson, KY. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181 in Evansville and the House of Prayer Church in Fayetteville, IN. Survivors include two sons, Ralph Eugene Baker and his wife, Janice of Brownsburg, IN and Bobby Baker of Olympia, WA; one daughter, Nan Faubion of Bedford; two grandsons, Tony and Roland Stockton both of Bedford; four granddaughters, Phetney Ann Cleveland of Amburst, MA, Debra Vangelder, JoAnna Rutenbeck of Port Townsend, WA and Jeanna Petry of Fishers, IN; fourteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; one sister, Reba Raines of Bedford (who was his twin); several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one granddaughter, Jana Sanders; two brothers, Dophus and Millard Baker; two sisters, Nellie Polk and Nannie Elizabeth Baker. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, June 1st from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bill Raines officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 31st and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Friday, June 1st at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Friends may call at the Bowling Funeral Home in London, KY from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 2nd. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 2nd at the McDaniel Cemetery in London, KY. View Video Tribute
