Bedford – Luella Rose Potts, 78, of Bedford, passed away at 2:30 am on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Stonebridge Health Campus.


Born January 30, 1944, in Rosemond, IL, she was the daughter of Rev. Stanley G. Hawkins and Mary (Payton) Hawkins. She married Arthur M. Potts, and he preceded her in death on November 10, 2009. She had worked in the dietary department at the Bedford Medical Center for 12 ½ years. She was a God-fearing woman and attended the Church of God.


Survivors include a son, David Potts, of Huron, IN; two daughters, Kerri L. Yingst, of Florida and Terri Yingst (who went missing in 1984); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Pansey and husband, Wayne Foreman and Annetta Fern (in infancy); a brother, Vernon Hawkins and wife, Claudia.


Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 30th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Billy Brim officiating. Burial will follow in Springville Cemetery West. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Friday, September 30th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
