Obituary of Charles "Keith" Baker

Bedford-Charles "Keith" Baker, 72, of Bedford passed away Thursday, September 22, 2022. Born June 26, 1950, in Bedford, Indiana. He was the son of Charles H. Baker and Mary A. (Bair) Baker. He graduated from Shawswick High School (Class of 1968) and Vincennes University. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and archery. He loved spending time with his family and took particular joy in caring for his seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He retired from Duke Energy after 37 years of service. Keith was a long-standing member and treasurer of the White River Bowhunters Club. He served in the Indiana National Guard for six years. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1393, American Legion Post 33, and the Bedford F&M Lodge #14. He is survived by Stacy D. Gilmore (Bob) and Erika M. McKinney (Ryan) all of Bedford, Indiana, and Jordan K. Baker (Juliana) of Pleasanton, California; seven grandchildren, Hannah Baker (Marty) of Bedford, Indiana, Bailee Callahan (Brandt) of Kansas City, Missouri, Payton Flynn of Indianapolis, Indiana, Lucas and Ava McKinney of Bedford, Indiana, Aspen and Dakota Baker Yanez of Pleasanton, California; two great grandchildren Pyper and Penellope of Bedford, Indiana; one sister, Linda (Baker) Smith of Springville, Indiana one nephew Bryan Smith; and one niece Lori (Smith) Day (Curt) of Bedford, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00pm on Friday, September 30th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Joe McAdams officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00pm until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the White River Bowhunters Club (P.O. Box 432, Bedford, IN 47421) in memory of Keith Baker.
