Bedford – Michael S. Sowders, Sr., 50, of Bedford, passed away at 11:51 pm on Monday, September 19, 2022.

Born September 6, 1972, in Marion Co., he was the son of Michael L. and Vicki L. (Ryan) Sowders. He was a life-long truck driver and recently was working as an operator for BH Hoadley Stone Quarry. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Bedford Jeepers, and Southern Monroe Coon Hunters Club.

Survivors include a son, Michael Sowders, Jr. and Ashley Robbins, of Bedford; two grandsons, Wyatt and Waylon Sowders; three step-daughters, Rachelle Fleshman, Makayla Fleshman, and Kiana Fleshman, all of Seymour; his father, Michael Sowders, of Bedford; a sister, Michelle Sowders, of Bedford; a brother, Jamie Sowders, of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, two uncles, Terry and Larry “Peach” Sowders, and his grandfather, Robert Ryan.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 27th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Michael Nicholson officiating. Burial will follow in Bartlettsville Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 and to 1:30 pm on Tuesday, September 27th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
