Bedford – Donna M. Carpenter, 87, of Bedford, passed away at 3:30 pm on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at White River Lodge.

Born July 9, 1935, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Marvin W. Rivers and Gertrude (Holmes) Rivers. She married Stanley Carpenter and he preceded her in death on January 5, 1995. She was an assembly worker at Stone City Products and member of the Avoca Baptist Church. She was a member of the ABC Quilting Circle and an amazing quilter.

Survivors include two sons, Wesley Carpenter and wife, Michelle, of Bedford and James Edward Hamilton, of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Ava and Evan Carpenter; four step-grandchildren, Amy Gill, April Leo, Josh Hancock and Emily Carpenter; four step-great-grandchildren, Jacob and Nicholas Gill, Alyssa Hamilton, Shelby Gill; a sister, Cathy McIntyre and husband, Terry. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Gloria Deckard and a great-grandchild, John McGuire.

Memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 16th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastors Nathan Kelly and Lewis Seward officiating.
