Bedford – Velva L. Hutton, 88, of Bedford, passed away at 8:08 pm on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.

Born October 21, 1933, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Harold Terry and Gladys (Blanton) Beasley. She married Richard Hutton, Sr. on July 16, 1949, and he survives. She owned H & H Bookstore and was a tax preparer. She was of the Protestant faith. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and loved to read and travel.

Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Richard, of Bedford; children, Peggy (Greg) Scherschel, of Columbus, Rick (Sally) Hutton, of Springville, Tony (Susan) Hutton, of Bedford; grandchildren, Dana (Todd) Anderson, Gretchen (Matt) Seibert, Joshua (Carrie) Scherschel, Joe (Sandra) Scherschel, Kyle Hutton, Kory Hutton, Kolby (Britni) Hutton, Christopher Hutton, Jennifer (Brett) Dillman, and Megan Hutton; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Walter Terry and Harold Terry, Jr. and a granddaughter-in-law, Morgan Hutton.
