Bedford – Ruby Doris Grissom, 88, of Bedford, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022, at White River Lodge.

Born July 23, 1933, in Judah, she was the daughter of Dras and Ollie (Deckard) Covey. She was a graduate of the Needmore High School. She had worked in the K-Mart Pharmacy and was the manager of their restaurant. She had also worked as a cook at Mitchell High School and for Robert’s Brass. She attended the Grace Full Gospel Church in Bedford. She married Richard Grissom and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons, Tim Grissom and wife, Lisa, Travis Grissom and wife, Beth, and Tovey Grissom, all of Mitchell; seven grandchildren, Heath Grissom, Shandi Thomas and husband, Doug, Alex Grissom, Dan Grissom and wife, Alyssa, Dustin Grissom and wife, Stormi, Aaron Grissom and Cortney Grissom; five great-grandchildren, Shaylyn, Hayden, Cole, Paul, and Britney. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard, and a sister, Roberta Maddox.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 8th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor David Ferry officiating. Burial will follow in Hanson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
