Obituary of Ermel Lewis
Bedford Ermel Lewis, 100, of Bedford, died at 6:00 am on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford.
Born July 18, 1907 in Martin Co., he was the son of Ellsworth and Cora Belle (Sargent) Lewis. He married Belva Kathleen Sexson in 1932 and she preceded him in death on January 6, 1996. He retired from Lewis Lumber Co. in 1972. He was a member of the Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis. He was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn J. Craig of Bloomington and Cora Anne Thomas of North Carolina; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one half-brother, Lester Lewis of Spencer; one half-sister, Laverne Brown of Gosport. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Gladys Lewis and Maurice Lewis; one half-brother, Kenneth Lewis. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 5th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Kenny Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Dishman Cemetery in Greene Co. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, February 4th and from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Tuesday, February 5th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
