Obituary of John K. Robbins

John K. Robbins, 88, of Bedford, died at 6:55 pm on Friday, May 13, 2022, at IU Health Bedford. Born June 28, 1933, in Lawrence County, he was the son of John Franklin and Nellie (Carter) Robbins. He married Colleen S. Fish on April 26, 1952, and she survives. John was a self- employed carpet installer, and a truck driver for Phillips 66 and Farrell Gas. He was a lifetime member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church. Survivors include his wife of seventy years, Colleen of Bedford; two sons, Kevin Robbins and wife Jackie, and Kent Robbins and wife Terri; six grandchildren, JK Robbins, Jessica (Michael) Bellush, Susan (John Picou) Bridges, Adrienne (Dustin) Andis, Christie (Chad) Miller, Jason (Sarah) Hassler; fifteen great-grandchildren, Grant, Ava, Addyson, Audrey, Tyler, Ben, Marissa, Danielle, Isaac, Rileigh, Lilly, Clarissa, Clayton, Drew, Rosalie; and one great-great-grandchild, Amelia. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and seven brothers. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 18th at the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church with Bro. Steve Wever officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the hour of service on Wednesday, May 18th at the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church.
