Obituary of Dennis James Alcorn

Bedford – Dennis James Alcorn, 66, of Bedford, passed away at 5:09 am on Monday, February 21st at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Born August 27, 1955, in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of Buford D. and Jeanette (Neal) Alcorn. He married Amy Lynn McCart on April 6, 1982, and she survives. He worked for Local #841 Operating Engineers for 30 years. He attended the Clearview Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Amy, of Bedford; three children, Cory Alcorn, Jessica Sargent, and Kyle Alcorn and wife, Amanda, all of Bedford; four grandchildren, Brady Alcorn, Evan Sargent, Berkleigh Alcorn, and Knox Alcorn; one brother, Kenny Alcorn, of Kentucky; a brother-in-law, Mark Fields, of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rita Fields. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Friday, February 25th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Rob Lanham officiating. Burial will follow in the Leatherwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
