Bedford – Howard D. Murphy, 68, of Bedford, passed away at 9:00 am on Friday, February 4, 2022, at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.

Born May 21, 1953, in Bedford, he was the son of Merlin and Imogene (Rainey) Murphy. He retired as an operator from I.B.E.W. Union.

Survivors include a daughter, Shannon Murphy and companion, Joseph Ross, of Bedford; a son, Cody Murphy and wife, Liza, of Brown Co.; grandchildren, Victoria Glass and husband, Levi, Samantha Fleener and companion, Zaric Priest, and Bexley Murphy; a great-grandson, Leo Priest; a sister, Kathleen Parry, of Bedford; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Michael Dean Murphy; and a special uncle, Fred Paterson Murphy.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 9th at the Mundell Christian Church. Burial will follow in Mundell Church Cemetery. Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
