Oolitic – Ruth (Gilbert) Pace, 84, of Oolitic, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at her residence.

Born December 24, 1937, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Wallis and Delia (Moore) Gilbert. She was a graduate of the Oolitic High School with the class of 1956. She married Jack Pace on February 8, 1958, and he preceded her in death on February 27, 2010. She retired as a factory worker from RCA and M. Fine & Sons. She enjoyed sewing, walking, gardening, and most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Pam Korvela, of Bedford and Sandy Young and husband, Marty, of Norman; a son, Dennis Pace, of Bedford; seven grandchildren, Kama Stigall and husband, Dan, Jennifer Baum and husband, Chad, Marty Young, Jr. and wife, Abbigail, Kray Korvela, Kody Korvela and wife, Leann, Landrey Pace and Jack Pace; six great-grandchildren, Cole, Claire, Cosbee, Shade, Pace, and Maddy; a brother, Voy Gilbert, of Oolitic. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, Mandy Cole Stewart, Glennie Sutton and one in infancy; six brothers, Stanley, Beachel, Burchel, Kenneth and James Gilbert and one in infancy and her best friend, Phyllis Gilbert.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 7th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Marty Speer officiating. Burial will follow in the Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Friday, at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
