Obituary of Carol Sue Scott

Bedford – Carol Sue Scott, 75, of Bedford, passed away at 12:04 am on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at her residence, with family by her side. Born March 7, 1946, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Aubrey C. and Helen Kathleen (White) Brown. She married Edward Scott on June 4, 1983, and he survives. She retired in 2008, after working several years as a medical assistant in a surgical office and was a member of the First Church of God. Survivors include her husband, Edward, of Bedford; two daughters, Diane (Frank) Meiser of Greenfield and Lisa Hackney, of Bloomington; two step-children, Eddie (Julie) Scott of Texas and Robin Scott, of Maine; grandchildren, Katie (Arie) Bottorff, Brittany (Roma) Ter-Saakov, Adam Meiser, Joshua (Jessica) Meiser, Emma Scott, Grace Poirier, Stephanie Pennell; six great-grandchildren and one due in March ; a sister, Marsha (Eldie) Miller, of Spencer, IN; several nieces, nephews, cousins. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, and step-daughter, Cheryl Lee. Carol was a fierce advocate for her family, especially her daughter, Lisa. Over the years she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling with her husband, doing ceramics and toll painting, and cherishing her grandchildren. She was a lover of animals, which she happily passed on to her daughters and granddaughter, and had many cherished pets over the years. Her strength and determination were unshakeable character traits that carried her through some of life’s deepest valleys and highest peaks, including the illnesses she fought these past few years Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 28th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, December 27th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Tuesday, at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
