Obituary of Larry Dale Eagan

Williams – Larry Dale Eagan, 77, of Williams, passed away at 2:45 pm on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. Born December 29, 1943, in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Ora and Ethel (Lewis) Eagan. He married Saundra White on January 29, 1965. Shortly thereafter, he entered the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he served as a combat engineer and demolition specialist. He retired after forty years at General Motors, and was a member of U.A.W. Local #440. He coached boys’ youth basketball, girls’ basketball and softball for many years. He was also an avid I.U. fan and loved fishing and sports. Above all else, he loved his family and left a legacy of unconditional love. Survivors include his wife, Saundra, of Williams; two daughters, Stephanie Stewart and husband, Andy, of Anderson, and Staci Morgan and husband, Brett, of Williams; grandchildren, Nik Stewart and his significant other, Sam Skalski, Taylor Stewart and her significant other, Shane Hazelwood Jr., Jeremy Morgan, Olivia Morgan, Rachel Morgan, and Anna Morgan; great-grandchildren, Camden Hazelwood, Evalynn Hazelwood, and Dalton McNally and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings; Alphalee, Gene, James, William, Marvadean, Leroy, Charles, Roberta, Loren, and Dean Eagan. A Celebration of his life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 11th at the Fayetteville Baptist Church with Gary Bolton and Honorary Minister Kenny Walden officiating. If you are unable or choose not to attend the service, the family will understand. Masks are not required but will be available along with hand sanitizer. Burial will follow in the Fayetteville Community Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 am until the hour of service on Saturday, at the church.
