First off our father William C Wilbur was not mentioned in the obit. He was mom’s first husband. I miss her so much. I retired in 2015 so mom and I became super close as we were able to do things together. My favorite memory during that time was taking her to Cracker Barrel and seeing her eyes “light up” when they brought her dumplings. We shopped till we dropped and enjoyed each other’s company. I spend several days with her the week she passed. Wednesday while I was with her she was dozing on the love seat with the tv on. I was on my phone when I heard her say to me “Isn’t that a beautiful view.” I looked at the tv but realized that wasn’t where she was looking. I asked her what beautiful view and she said “on the hill.” I knew she could not see outside from where she was so I told her yes it was. My best friend Diana came and got me Friday and we went for a drive. We ended up going to Clover Hill Cemetery where mom will be buried beside my step father Charlie on one side and the plots of her mom and brother on the other. Diana and I were talking when I turned and saw “The beautiful view from the hill” mom was taking about. It was the view from her final resting place. On my birthday this year mom called and sang happy birthday to me. Her voice was weak and shaking and she apologized for that and then said “I love you.” I saved that message and play it whenever I want to hear mom’s voice. Today I am watching the Colts for you mom.

Vicky, Debbie, and all the family, I have so many precious memories--our trip out west (when she jumped out of my car in the Petrified Forest), many trips to the Smokies, or just going out to eat. She was more like an older sister to me and I will miss her tremendously, but I know she is where she wanted to be with Jesus. My condolences and love to all of you.
